VIMEC has over 15 years of experience in building complete vision systems for the glass industry. This includes mechanical design (3D), optical and lighting configuration and all software algorithm development. The complete process of building a vision systems is handled by VIMEC.

Our vision systems are used to inspect a wide variety of glass products including ampoules, syringes, vials, beer, wine & perfume bottles, stemware, sprinkler bulbs etc. Standard inspection systems for dedicated products are available at VIMEC.

VIMEC systems are used to check many aspect of glass products, during production or in the laboratory. This includes geometric, cosmetic (glass particles, cracks, knots etc), printing and opc (width of cut, gaps in color code rings etc.) aspects of glass products. The measurements are normally performed during inspection at high speed. This way only good products, not containing defects/attributes, are packed. More inspection about specific defects is included on the product pages. Typical defects found on vials include cracks, chips, contamination etc. Typical defects on syringes can be found on the flange, body, shoulder or tip. Special defects on ampoules include non round point, gaps in rings, smeared print.

Statistical results

Dedicated lighting and high resolution cameras in combination with designed software algorithms are used to perform accurate inspection. VIMEC also integrates "motion control" into its inspection systems to allow easy and operator independent settings of the inspection systems. The inspection results are provided in multiple statistical views providing both the operator and the quality department with the required information. The inspection information is also imported in the information system of the customer.
