OPC Inspection of ampoules

OPC point
Our OPC (One Point Cut) inspection module has been developed to support producers of ampoules in meeting the stringent demands of the pharmaceutical industry. The OPC point must be positioned correctly (relative to the OPC cut) to ensure the ampoule can be opened correctly. The OPC cut determines easy (spike- and glass free) opening without possible product contamination. Our inspection module performs very accurate measurements relating to OPC Point, Cut and Rings. The measurements include:
Diameter OPC PointHeight OPC point to OPC cut
Ovality OPC point (roundness) Height bottom ampoule to top OPC point
Shape factor OPC pointHeight bottom ampoule to OPC cut
Satellites to OPC pointWidth OPC cut
Completeness of OPC pointLength OPC cut

Some pictures of defects are included on the left and right. Images of typical defects (which can be detected by VIMEC's ampoule system) are also shown below. More information is available at VIMEC. Please do not hesitate to contact us for more details. We will be most happy to provide you more details about our inspection systems which we believe are the best ampoule inspection systems available on the market today.

VIMEC ampoule inspection systems provide a full set of OPC measurements. The system is able to check the completeness of the code rings but also the minimal or maximal width. If ampoules are produced with small code rings the system will detect them and rejects the ampoules accordingly. The roundness and completeness of the OPC point is verified including any additional spots of paint or gaps in the dot.

This accurate inspection can be achived through the use of the Rotohandler. This mechanical handling unit ensures stable and accurate product presentation in front of the camera. This unique handling mechanism has been integrated in our standardized Callisto, Carme and Thebe inspection systems and allows more time for inspection than conventional lifting mechanisms.
These systems are readily available for integration on all common single tact production lines such as Moderne Mecanique and Ariste (integration on Euromatic and Ghiver lines can also be realized). Dimensional inspection is often combined with OPC measurements in one single inspection system.
